My Commitments to You
1. Infrastructure-first growth
Stittsville can grow without losing what makes it livable — but only if roads, transit, parks, schools, sidewalks, water/sewer capacity, and emergency services are planned and funded before growth overwhelms residents. I will push for phased development, meaningful public input, and a firm “growth pays for growth” approach so existing residents are not left subsidizing delayed infrastructure.
2. Safe, connected transportation for real life
Residents need to move safely and reliably — whether they drive, take transit, walk, cycle, use mobility supports, or get kids to school. I will fight for better road connections, improved Stittsville-to-Kanata and Stittsville-to-city transit, safer school zones, traffic calming where it is warranted, completed sidewalks, and active transportation links that connect neighbourhoods to the village core, schools, parks, and trails.
3. Fair taxes and visible value for Stittsville
Residents deserve clear answers about where their tax dollars go and what Stittsville receives in return. I will push for plain-language, ward-level budget reporting; protect core services such as roads, winter maintenance, transit, parks, and safety; and advocate for responsible budgeting that does not shift the cost of new growth onto existing homeowners.
4. Small business and youth investment
A thriving ward requires a strong local economy and safe spaces for our youth. I will champion a “Destination Stittsville” campaign and community engagement strategy to drive foot traffic to our small businesses and keep our local economy resilient. Equally, I will prioritize expanding community youth programs to address recent escalations in violence and the lasting impacts of the pandemic, ensuring our children have the safe, inclusive, and supportive environments they need to succeed.
